Objectives
• Discuss the incidence and prevalence of Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome (NAS).
• Describe the basic components of fetal nervous system development.
• Describe the neurologic effects of maternal drug use on the fetus and newborn.
• Assess and recognize the clinical manifestations of NAS in the newborn.
